This day and age, no, pigments and techniques have changed significantly since the method first came about. Today, pigments are designed to fade between 1-3 years time. This is why it is recommended to have top up’s once your brows have faded approx 60-70%.
No, Pmu is a tattooing technique of its own. Pigments, tools and machines used are all crafted with the delicacy of the face in mind. Traditional tattoo machines have a much stronger stroke length (how hard they hit into the skin) as opposed to a PMU machine. The pigments are designed to gradually fade without any residual colours remaining (like the green/gray effect once seen).
No, it shouldnt! A topical numbing cream is applied 20mins prior to your procedure, along with secondary numbing throughout the process. 9/10 clients actually find themselves waking to their own snoring! The procedure can be done without numbing creams but I prefer your to be completely relaxed and enjoying the process, and perhaps a little nap too!
Depending on the procedure chosen, healing is mostly complete within 2 weeks period. You may experience some gentle flaking of the tattooing, which is completely normal. Some mild itchy sensation may occur during this healing process. Otherwise, it is a minimally traumatic procedure.
-If you are diabetic, on thyroid medication, anaemic or have blood clotting issues (please consult with Brow LUXE)
-If you are on blood thinning medications.
-You must be off Accutane/Acne medication for at LEAST 6 months
-You’ve had skin treatments (laser/burns/botox/fillers) 2-4 weeks prior (please consult with Brow LUXE)
You should always meet with someone you’re entrusting to tattoo your face!
But also, it gives Brow LUXE the opportunity to ensure you are a suitable candidate, enables a full skin assessment, and allows us to have a clear and concise idea of what is expected and the desired outcome. Along with the conversation, I provide a (non permanent) demonstration drawing on your brows as you can expect them on procedure day. Think of it as a “try before you buy” approach.
Depending on the pigments chosen and suited to the clients skin type, results vary from 1-3 years before a touch up is suggested. This is also very dependant on how well you care for your brows (Avoiding sun, not smoking, avoiding peels and exfoliants directly on the brow area etc).

I implore you to! Please! I love having reference to what you have in mind for your new brows, it’s great to have a visual instead of trying to guess what you’re envisioning.
You may bring a friend to a shorter appointment time (Brow lamination or waxing for example) but I strongly recommend coming solo as there is limited space within the room, it’s boring sitting there for 3.5hrs, and as PMU requires extreme concentration, children can obviously impose on this focus. Allow this time for yourself, literally!

Your precare will be discussed with you at your free consultation appointment, and aftercare will be given to you and explained after your procedure on the day. You can also find all the directions and guidance on pre and post aftercare on the CARE Menu tab.
Ideally please get your botox/fillers 2 weeks after your PMU appointment or 1 month prior. Whatever you’re mostly in (frozen or malleable) please get your brows tattooed in this state.
I fully understand illness and instances occur out of our control, but please don’t abuse this fact. If you cannot make your appointment you can reschedule using the booking system, or shoot me a message. Ideally 48hrs minimum is 24hrs. No shows will not be tolerated, if you’ve changed your mind about coming in, that’s perfectly ok. But it’s so easy and respectful of ones time to simply cancel or let me know. Failure to do so will void your ability to book with Brow LUXE in the future.
