Salt/Saline removal works on the theory of “Osmosis”
Osmosis is a process by which molecules of a solvent (water) tend to pass through a semipermeable membrane (skin) from a less concentrated solution into a more concentrated one. This achieves the same amount of concentration on each side of the membrane…called Equalisation. The movement of water balances out the percentages of salt to water.
Implanting a higher concentration of salt/saline than what is naturally in the body creates the process of Osmosis. When implanting Li-FT® into the upper dermal layer where the pigment to be removed is…the movement begins.
Water in the cells beneath the pigment contain lower amounts of salt and water will rise to the area containing higher concentrations of salt.
Equalisation forces the pigment from the dermal layer up to the epidermis by Osmotic pressure.
This is a natural process to become equal to the higher concentration of salt and water.
The pigment becomes trapped in the scab and when the scabs falls off some of the pigment goes with it. Hopefully…lots of pigment goes with the scab.

The Procedure – The days prior to your procedure and following it, it is essential to keep well hydrated, drinking at least 2-3ltrs of water per day this helps the solution draw the pigment out.
You will be numbed, then using an appropriate needle configuration and PMU device, the Li-FT solution will be deposited into the old brow tattoo area only. Once enough saturation has been achieved, the brows are then bathed in the solution for 10mins. Some redness, slight marking may occur but will settle within 24-48hrs.
The Aftercare – After your procedure you will be made aware of the instructions to follow for the next few weeks. Immediately after, you are to cleanse your brows using only the saline solution provided 3-4 times per day. Your brows will form a slight scab, it is imperative not to pick off the scabbing and allow this to shed naturally. The longer it is on, the more pigment it may potentially purge. Resist the urge! Once all scabbing has shed, then you’re to apply the aftercare gel 3-4 times per day for 2 weeks. Then we must allow the brows to continue to lighten and heal (minimum of 8 weeks) prior to assessing whether another session is required.
This purely depends on each individual case. It is recommended to have a Free Consultation with Brow LUXE in regards to getting your tattoo brows removed. On average, it can take between 2-6 sessions before enough pigment has been removed to either camouflage the remaining pigment with new brows or leave them as is.

Emergency Removal – done within 72hrs of initial brow appointment can be done. It can remove quite a substantial amount of pigment if you’re unhappy with the end result of all or certain aspects of your brows. The quicker this is done the better the outcome.
